What is QuickGif?

QuickGif is a fast GIF picker for Mac. It lets you search, copy, and drag GIFs into any app within seconds — right from your menu bar.

Is QuickGif free?

Yes, QuickGif is free with all core features. A Premium version adds extras like favorites, search suggestions, random filenames, and link copying.

How do I share GIFs?

Just drag and drop a GIF into any supported macOS app or onto your desktop. You can also click a GIF to copy it to your clipboard.

Does QuickGif work with all macOS apps?

QuickGif works with most Mac apps that support drag-and-drop or image pasting — like Messages, Slack, Discord, Mail, and many others.

Will there be a Windows or Linux version?

Currently, QuickGif is only available for macOS. Expanding to other platforms isn’t planned yet.

How do shortcuts work?

Press ⌘ + ⌥ + V to open the QuickGif picker. Type to search, use ↓ to select a GIF, and hit Enter to copy it. You can change this shortcut in Settings.

Why are my favorites gone after updating to version 1.4?

We’re really sorry about this. Favorites used to live on Tenor’s servers, but Tenor is shutting down its API in June 2026, so we had to migrate to a new provider (Klipy). The old favorites sadly couldn’t come with us. Thanks for sticking with us through the change.
